Anacoustic Mind an exploration of Scottish song and New York reggae rhythms combined with the glitter and sparkle of one of Simple Minds' finest albums - New Gold Dream 81-82-83-84.

Ogletree, whose creative drumming and personality were an essential contribution to the original New Gold Dream album back in '82, has reworked every song on the album for acoustic guitar and voice. He now performs them live, singer/songwriter style, with his band Anacoustic Mind promoting his latest CD which features Mike's New York recordings of these songs.

"It's a fantasy prequel to an album that was spiritually ahead of its time, Ogletree enthuses, "a prophecy of a New Gold Dream yet to happen. And here we are 30 years later talking about the arrival of just such an event in 2012." Mike's music explores his multi-cultural afro-celt roots, he invites and encourages listeners to sing and stomp along to the soul of Scotland played with a New York reggae beat if you will.

So, whether you see AM live, on YouTube, or listen on-line, with each you will experience a small piece of Mike's journey from the white presbyterian west coast of Scotland to the African American heart of Alabama. A personal story 30 years in the making, which is told in New Gold Dream 2011-12-13-14.
